Today I am wearing...

Baby pink. I am sorry it had to be done. By now you probably know that I'm obsessed with everything pink. So I am always searching for the perfect shade of pink. Any ideas? Send them my way please.

This particular colour flatters everything and anything. Wear it out or to work, it doesn't matter: it suits every occasion, style and make up. It can also be used for french manicure but I never have the patients nor time for it!

One particular friend of mine who is somewhat of a rock chic sprinkles black glitter on it while still wet and it looks stunning! Definitely worth a try!

IMATS - International Make-UP Artist Trade Show

This weekend IMATS came to London and make-up lovers nation wide united to watch and learn about everything that's new or simply spectacular; and they were in for a treat.

Stall after stall, lectures and master classes - the choice was endless. Some people looked like they escaped the circus while others definitely needed a make over.

Next to favourites such as Illamasqua and Dermalogica were lesser know brands such as Royal & Langnickel who offer the softest make-up brushes. Another brand that I discovered called Temptu offers the quirkiest blush and foundation I have ever seen.

They come packaged in so called 'air pods,' which as the name suggests you spray on to your skin. At around 200 Dollar for the machine and 30 Dollar a pod they don't come cheap but fortunately their website offers a service that matches their products with your skin type. This means you can't really go wrong and their foundation covers so evenly and flawless every penny is worth it anyway.

A company called Perfect Products offered a 'safer' alternative to plugging eyebrows: tinting them using one of their various stencils. This turned out to be a complete waste of time. First of all they claim it's smudge free; it's not. Secondly, although the eyebrow hairs that didn't fit the chosen stencil were covered in the same shade as the persons skin tone, they were still there and looked somewhat ridiculous - why torture yourself every single morning trying to hide your bushy eyebrows, when plugging or threatening them once a week just seems like so much less of an effort?!

Missed out on all the fun? Tomorrow is IMAT's last day in London before showing in New York in April. So if you are in London or will be New York, IMATS is definitely worth checking out.

Today I am wearing..

A very pale, baby blue colour, which I like to call sleeping beauty blue. I call it that simply because I never had anything matching to wear with it apart from my Calvin Klein pyjamas. Only recently I spotted a sweet 3/4 sleeve black dress with subtle flowers in the same colour as the nail varnish. I am so happy as I finally get to wear this gorgeous colour during the day and not only to bed!

Dior vs Lancome

Or should I say Dior meets Lancome? Let me explain...

These two products are my favourite foundations. They are easy to apply, cover evenly, don't feel heavy on the skin and offer all day cover that doesn't leave your skin greasy or looking drained.

Now, 'Why two foundations?' you might ask:

Simple, I use the Diorskin Sculpt foundation during the day as its coverage is more subtle than Lancome's Absolute Teint foundation. Once applied, the Lancome foundation has that special 'va va voom' effect, which makes it the perfect acquaintance for any social gathering or evening events.

Both products are great on their own, so no need for powder touch ups. The Lancome even offers a light glow and keeps its promise of being 'revitalizing,' as even after some hardcore partying it still looks and feels fresh. However, I wouldn't go as far as calling it 'nourishing'.

In regards to the Dior foundation, I don't really feel a lifting or line smoothing effect. But I assume I am not the right target market for this product, which is most likely the cause for that. Either way, it feels like a second skin, which makes its price tag more than worth it for me.

Product Rating (For Both Products): 9/10

Lush <3

My never ending search for the perfect lip balm lead me to everyone's favourite bubbly bubble bath company: Lush.

Already mesmerised by their delicious smelling body washes and scrubs, I was delighted to discover a cute little lip balm tin nestled between their infamous shampoo's and hand lotion. The understated design, promise of chocolate flavouring, all natural ingredients and that it's hand produced made me fall in love the 'Whip Stick' lip balm instantly. Besides, with ingredients such as oat milk, dark chocolate and vanilla, what could go wrong?!

As soon as I opened the tiny tin I was greeted by the delicious smell of chocolate and the product transferred easily from tin to finger and from finger to mouth.

Yet its texture was surprisingly grainy and heavy. The balm felt more like rice pudding on my lip rather than a balm that would leave my lips seductively smooth and glossy. It also took some intensive rubbing to get rid of clumpy bits that formed on my lip. Furthermore the sensation of a freshly applied lip balm only lasted a mere 5 minutes before I had the urge to re-apply and long term use didn't make my lips any softer either.

One last thing I would like to share with you is that my boyfriend believes that its smell, taste and texture is somewhat revolting. I think 'It felt like I have just made out with a granny who ate an out-of-date kinder egg' were his exact words.

So if you are planning to snog or marry any time soon you better avoid. But if you are looking for a balm with an unusual texture for those long and cold winter days, then this is the product for you.

Overall Rating: 5/10

Today I am wearing...

.. A colour I can't quite figure out myself. It is a sort of peachy/nude with a dash of pink colour nail polish. I really love the colour but now that my tan has faded it really doesn't suit me anymore.
Note to self - maybe a fake tan isn't a bad idea after all?!

Monday Blues

It's another cold and grey monday morning here in London. In fact it's my first monday as a working girl. This makes me miss my recent Holiday even more. We all know the dangers of tanning but I really love the way the sun feels on my skin and the way a natural tan looks. I especially love that with tanned skin there really is no need to wear make up. Besides, who says chemicals from fake bake products or studios are not just has harmful as the natural sun?
Anyway if you are lucky enough to enjoy a sunny getaway soon, don't forget to slap on that sun protection lotion.
