Monday Blues

It's another cold and grey monday morning here in London. In fact it's my first monday as a working girl. This makes me miss my recent Holiday even more. We all know the dangers of tanning but I really love the way the sun feels on my skin and the way a natural tan looks. I especially love that with tanned skin there really is no need to wear make up. Besides, who says chemicals from fake bake products or studios are not just has harmful as the natural sun?
Anyway if you are lucky enough to enjoy a sunny getaway soon, don't forget to slap on that sun protection lotion.

Neutrogena Visibly Pink Grapefruit Daily Scrub

Yum, yum, yum, is all I can say to this geoureous facial scrub. It does not only smell amazingly refreshing and looks adorable in a sophisticated way but it also works fantastic.

It's neither too strong nor too gentle. It exfoliates, purifies and leaves my skin baby soft. It is even strong enough to remove my make up in the evening.

My skin is pretty normal, perhaps a little sensitive, so it was hard to find a product that really compliments my skin. I found that other products from Clarins or Clinique for example often left my skin oily or even slightly inflamed. Therefore I was more than surprised that a product available in almost every drugstore in the UK for so little money (not more than £5) visibly cleared my skin.

I use it twice daily, morning and evening, and put a moisturising cream on straight after washing it off. After about a week of using it I started to notice improvements and have been using it ever since.

Really can't wait to try other Neutrogena products now.

Today I am wearing...

My favourite nail colour at the moment. A soft nude pink. It goes perfect with all shades of pink, red and brown. Looks especially good with the burgundy dress I am wearing today.

Max Factor Lipfinity Lasting Lip Tint

Let's get straight to the point. This product does what it says on its packaging: it tints your lips.

But it does this so efficiently that within an hour I paced back to the store to purchase two additional colours.

I generally hate applying lipstick, as I smudge it so badly that you could easily mistake me for a hooker from Soho after yet another steamy encounter. And that I usually avoid any kind of lip liners or lip pens goes without saying for the same reason.

Yet, the lip tint has me hooked. It not only glides smoothly onto my lips and leaves the most luscious colour, but I also remain in total control while applying the lip tint, enabling be to have sassy, not slutty lips.

Once I told my best friend she rushed to our local store only to find it had sold out - thank god I stocked up!!!

Lipfinity is definitely a playful solution to finally venture away from glittery lip glosses without having to master the skill of applying or looking too mature with lipstick.

I hope you love it as much as I do.

I am back.

Everyone has New Years resolutions: loose weight, go to the gym, spend less money and so on. Honestly, I don't want to fool anyone - I have never kept a single of those, in my opinion, illusional and not thought through promises (It all seems just so much more doable at 1am on January 1st with a glass of champers in your hand, but then the hangover kicks in and to hell with it all!!).

And that's not why I am here anyway.

Having lived, breathed and studied Fashion all of my life it was a mere coincidence I stumbled across the beauty sector and discovered make-up and day creams that are a lot fancier than my usual Nivea moisturizer and powder foundation.

And I must admit, much to my surprise, I not only liked what I saw, but became somewhat obsessed; constantly searching for the best and newest products out there. However the search for these products became somewhat of a nightmare - video tutorials were too complicated and it took forever to find what I was looking for, and blog posts were so long I had forgotten why I was reading them in the first place when, or should I say if, I finished reading them.

Which brings me to this blog:

My aim is to write a simple, hassle free, straightforward, no-nonsense advice, reviews and suggestions for anyone who is interested. I will be bravely testing and exploring anything worth trying in the world of Beauty.

Watch this space, but be warned: This road might be a bumpy one.

Fashion vs Fashion

They say a true Chelsea girl will always be in love with London - especially King's Road. Yet just one trip to the heart of New York can change everything. Not only are sample sales served for breakfast, lunch AND dinner but the platters they are served on are also a lot cleaner and bigger. Yes, in true American style I found myself walking a couple of very long Avenues, from the upper east side all the way down to the garment district (ironically called Chelsea) and my collection of shopping bags just wouldn't stop growing. Whereas a trip to Sloane Street followed by King's Road only takes up half a day max, this new territory remained partly unexplored even after 7 days of hardcore dollar loss. Sometimes bigger really is better.

The Sloane Ranger Rides Again

Minus three degrees. Snow everywhere. Pathways frozen. No, this is not Antarctica: this is London during a February weather-break-down. Yet, a little snow doesn’t stop a true Chelsea girl from venturing out to the shops on King’s Road. But what does one wear? One thing is certain: heels simply can’t be swapped for slide resistant wellies – no one wants to be seen sluggish; not even when the weather brings the whole of London transport to a standstill.

I knew I was destined to break an ankle, or at least fall on my backside, but surprisingly neither happened. The heels, similar to football shoes, functioned like an anchor by piercing into the snow and forming a secure platform to walk on. This even enabled me to walk faster than most people wearing Hunters.

But of course, once I had spotted my friends they were all dressed in snug Ugg boots – nothing can beat comfortableness on a day like this, but only a true Sloane Ranger can pull it off.

Here are some must-have items for the Princess’s of 2009:
